Question:After a recent trip to London I couldn't help but notice all the fat Brit's. Shouldn't the UK be addressing this issue before they bid for such a big sporting event?
I really dont have a problem with the UK hosting baking events as that would seem more fitting for this obese bunch of folks.

You might be a bit more selective next time the Games roll around and take a close look at the male athletes who participate in the weight-lifting competitions. A great many of them happen to have pronounced pot bellies - and the ones that earn the Gold medals are almost always in that condition. Makes one think, eh?

What a sweeping statement! I can assure you there are plenty of skinny people in London just as there are "normal" sized and obese! Anyway, there's more to offer than just "fat" people in London - I'm assuming you're from America - I saw a programme the other night on the "half ton man" and how obesity is one of the largest causes of death in the States...so I think people in glasses houses shouldn't throw stones, don't you?!!London is one of the greatest sporting cities in the world. It's got Wembley, Lord's, the Oval, Twickenham, Wimbledon and 7 top flight football clubs... London is where Roger Bannister first broke the four-minute mile. Oxford and Cambridge have their annual boat race in the Thames. There are great parks and footpaths. 2012 will be a great Olympics.
