Which country is the Olympics held in in year 2012?
Your best bet is to check out the NCSA. They can evaluate you and connect you to the colleges that most fit your criteria and ability. The problem is the NCAA has limited scholarships to 16 per school. It is difficult to get a full ride unless you can produce points for the team as a freshman. However, there are lots of Div 2 schools and if you win state this year you should get some attention. There are also lots of youth meets in the USATF. Your coach should know some college coaches who he can talk to about your potential. If you can throw around 60 feet you will show you have the ability to get better, but the college shot is 16 pounds, not 12.
Should the Olympics be held in chicago?
it depends on what type of school you want to go to. you might be able to get on at a small division 2 school or a junior college, but the honest chances of you getting a scholarship to a division 1 school are not good. you are a senior in high school, if there were interested, you would have scouts looking at you already. on average, high school throwers who place first in state competition throw at least 58 feet.Olympic perfomance of different nation?
Wow, you probably should have thrown eariler, but you can try out for some summer track teams, or walk on and earn a scholarship. You would have to be throwing in the low to mid 50's to get a look. More important is your swixe. When going from a 12 pd. ball to a 16 pd you need more size. Many colledge throwers are 6'3 or taller and weigh in the 250 range. You usally drop 6-7 feet when you start with the bigger shot.
When was the first olympics held ?
it may help if you request at interest in a couple of colleges and inform the coaches, also try looking at feeder schools like NJCAA cause NCAA usually takes only the most competitive athletes.More Questions & Answers...
