Mike Tyson was defeated in the 1984 US Olympic trials by Henry Tillman (twice) and so Tyson didn't make the team. No, he wasn't. He was at one time,an awesome fighter though. After Robbin Givins, it was all down hill.
Yeah, I don't know if he won a medal but I'm sure he was in the 88 olympics.
Who won the 2006 winter olympics in Italy?
NOP..Why do people think this isnt a sport?
Yes. 1984NO- HE is not listed on the 1984 USA Boxing roster. His first pro fight was March 6, 1985. Once you turn pro you're not allowed to box in the Olympics.
1984- Super Heavyweight Tyrell Biggs (1st), Heavyweight Henry Tillman (1st), and Evander Holyfield Light Heavyweight (3rd) , so maybe you confused Hoyfield with Tyson.
Here is the complete team roster- Only one boxer from each weight classification allowed per country.

He didn't go through the trials to qualify , because here's the Tyson time-line..

What event is street performer Stewart Fischer promoting to become an Olympic sport, by 2012?
If I remember correctly, Tyson was in the Junior Olympics in 1982 when he was 16 years old, and he crushed his opponent, and that's when his reputation began. His first professional fight was in 1985. And in 1986 he won the first of the 3 world championship belts.
As far as the regular Olympics, no, he was not in them. He didn't qualify for the 1984 Summer Games in Los Angeles. And by 1988, he was already the undisputed professional world champion, holding all 3 championships ( WBC, WBA, IBF )
So, simply put, no he was not in the Olympics.
His last bit of real glory came at the age of 30, in 1996, when he regained one of the three world championships ( WBC ). Be he lost it a few months later to Evander Holyfield.
