What do you have to do to qualify for the olypmics?

I would like to try and qualify for the 2008 or 2012 olympic games in the triathlon. Can anyone tell me if they know how to go about qualifing?

to the best of my knowledge from observing, you have to be sponsored by some league and qualify in their national and world competitions. i'm sure it is tough, but go for it!
