Could you see the Summer Olympics in Minneapolis, Minnesota? Why or why not?
Answers:
I'm not sure if the IOC ever would pick such a small city for the Summer Games. They seem to like the big cities that are more glamorous.
OK here is the public transportation could it be any worse then Atlanta after all at least Minneapolis-St.Paul has light rail. Just need more buses and taxi drivers. People would love shopping at the Mall Of America.

What people may not realize is Minneapolis-St.Paul International airport can easily handle the crowds it's a major hub.
I disagree with every one else about the weather it's really not as bad as everyone is making it out.. Average temperature in August is 69-80 F and the discomfort level is only medium (better then Atlanta) Only reason why Atlanta was awarded the Olympics was it's the headquarters of COCA-COLA.
No need to build a new facility for the big basketball games Target Center - Xcell could host Gymnastic events major handball games. Minneoplois is called the city of lakes (Lakers) no problem with rowing or boating events and triathlon.. Lake Superior would be for sailing and open water swimming. Make it simple outstanding recreation sports could even host natural Kayak course.
University of Minnesota and other Universities throughout the state could help out. Not everyhing has to be right in Minneapolis the rest of the state can help out. Read all about Lutsen Mountain Bike Park.

In summary would only work if the residents of the city aand state could tolerate the construction and possible public dollars ( tax breaks) to host this event. Otherwise would be a great for many of the outdoor recreation events.
The women's gymnastics in the Olympics is accompanied by music but not the men's why is this?
Sorry, but highly unlikely. Lack of infrastructure and, unless all events are held indoors, the weather. Last summer olympics in U.S. (LA and Atlanta) were held in warm climates. Minneapolis could make a good pitch to host the winter olympics, though.Who won the very first olympic gold medal, and what event was it in, and when was it?
The words summer and Minnesota draw conflicting impressions.I lived in Minneapolis for five years, and while it's a great place with awesome people (for the most part), like said above, lacks infrastructure, and the climate isn't suitable.
Why is it that Daniel Amokachi was removed from being the coach of under 23 super Eagle team?
I hardly think they could ever get it but maybe the winter games. Although, Chicago a pretty cold city is is going head to head with Los Angeles for the American bid for the olympics.Which Canadian City hosted the summer Olympics?
They do not have the infastructure to support such a large event right now. They also do not have the population to support all that needs to be built for the games.B
Why are all 100 mtr races run from left side to right side?
Umm... no. Our facilities include the excel, target center, and dome. The city would be crushed byy the massive amount of people.Do you know any famous people that were born in washington dc?
I totally disagree above about whether and i believe that Minneapolis would be better for summer olymics instead of Winter olympics. our last few winters have been mild and we don't have olympic standard hills.I do agree however that finacially Minnesota would not be able to handle it, and numerous buildings would have to be built and would be a huge burrden on Minnesotans.
Also I could not see the IOC accepting Minneapolis/st. Paul as it is not a huge internationally known.
However out of the two I would go with the Summer Olympics.I would deffintly go to it, however I find it very unlikely.
When and where was the first olympics played?
As I only know that Minneapolis is in the USA I cant see why not. The merits of the city are an unknown to me!!You got the 1996 Olympics over Athens when they should have hosted the centenary games in Greece,so whenever the USA wants it they'll get it!!
MONEY!.. TV....Sponsorship..$$$$$...
Personally I think America should only host it once in every generation. look to 2020 or 2224.
