For the long (broad) jump, the dimensions would be similar to this:

The "pit" is rectangular shaped, and measures 20' long x 9' wide. The pit should contain mason sand and be approximately 18" deep. The pit, ideally should be surrounded by curbing to mark the landing area.

The length of the runway can vary, but should be at least 130' long x 3' or 4' wide. The leading edge of foul line should be placed 8' from the edge of the pit, so the maximum length of the pit is a total of 28'.

The length of the pit can vary depending on the available space, but 25' is about as long as needed.

The foul board ideally would be made of a white composite material and inset flush with the run way. It should be not be more than 8" wide. In some cases, schools have elected to simply paint an 8" foul line on the runway surface.

Hope this helps.
