We can't build England's (Wembley) national stadium on time...?
So what chance have we got in having the 2012 Olympic Park built on time and at what cost to the local tax payer?
Answers:
The place where the last Olympic Games were held.?
You're right we can't, but we did contract it out to an Australian firm for some reason. We should look at whoever built the Arsenal stadium (I'm not a gooner either before anyone starts). It's just down the road from where I live and was built from start to finish in 2 years and is absolutely amazing. It's also not too much smaller than Wembley.
Most importantly of all they said when they started to build it that it would be ready for the start of this season and it is. All we need to do is find out who built it and get the Olympic committee to use them and all will be fine

For NonAmericans-Do you ever get tired of seeing the US dominate the olympics?
Local tax payer - who kmows, but I live just outside of Mayor Ken's fiefdom, so no cost to me!As long as we don't get the Aussies to build it and the FA to manage the project, we might have a chance.
Well for some reason we decided to let Australians build Wembley. As long as we build the olympic facilities ourselves, hopefully it will be ok.

Should a genetically enhanced athlete be banned from professional sports?
but we knew that when we gave the contract to a private companyour 'private' market is not as competitive as the usa, so private companies know there is nowhere else we can go and simply wait for more public money to be pumped in
the 2012 olympics is a different story, we have to achieve that as the olympics is a much bigger event and we will never be taken seriously ever again as a nation if we dont
Are we going to knacker up the olimpics in 2012?

WHY are you still whining? The 2012 games will go off without a hitch and the costs will be mitigated by the revenues... do some research, the TV revenues alone are worth about 1.7 BILLION dollars, then there are coporate sponsorships. You either have to over build or be a moron to NOT make money. The '84 & '96 games in the US were VERY profitable. Are there any Chicago residents who do NOT want the Olympics?
