I heard on the radio that China is now accepting applications to be a volunteer for the 2008 Olympics from overseas. Is this true? What are the regulations and if so, where can I apply??

From August 2006 to March 2008, the Games-time volunteers' recruitment will be organized at different stages and in various batches.

1. Applicants within Beijing area can apply from August 28, 2006.

2. Applicants from other provinces can apply through the application channels appointed by the local Youth Leagues from December, 2006.

3. Compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, overseas Chinese, students studying aboard and foreigners can apply from March, 2007.
