Who caught the fish?
My boyfriend and I went fishing. He left his pole in the water,to go get refreshments. He was getting a "bite",so I grabbed his pole, yanked at it,and hooked the fish. As he returned,I told him I caught something, but I could'nt reel it in,because it was too heavy,so he took over. After wrestling with this fish for about 5 mins,he finally got it close enough to the boat, for me to bring it in with the net. It was a 8 pound Large Mouth Bass. We took it to the weight station, and he had his picture taken with the fish. (Now) I was pissed, because he did not mention me having anything to do with the "catch". (you tell me?) "WHO CAUGHT THE FISH?". 10 points for the best answer,(and I want to know how you came to the conclusion).

If on the off chance that you had caught fish that would have qualified for a state or world record, the fish would have been disqualified. The rules state "Only one person may handle the rod, reel or line while the fish is being hooked, played or landed; except that one person may assist by using a net or gaff the fish after it has been brought to the side of the boat." Since you set the hook and he landed the fish then the people who officially qualify world records would look at it this way: you share credit for landing the fish.
Regardless of who formally caught it, that's a great fish!

YOU BOTH DID!fun huh?How do I go about getting a firearm/pistol permit?
I say you caught the fish...he left his pole and if you didn't pick it up and hook the fish than he wouldn't of been able to reel it in. It was definitely you who caught it!I think you caught the fish, after careful analysis. According to the dictionary, catch (present tense of caught) means to capture or seize especially after pursuit, to take or entangle in or as if in a snare. Since you were the one who captured the fish by hooking it on the pole, and you were also the one to take it in, you did the "catching".

YOU,The word catch is the key.In order to catch a fish there has to be an action that takes place. This action happened when you jerked the the pole to set the hook in the mouth of the fish.

Sorry, the fish isn't "caught" until it is in the boat. Until it is landed it is only hooked. However for your boyfriend to not give you any credit stinks and you should punish him accordinglyHow old do you have to be to own a pistol?

Typically, to have "caught" the fish, you have to hook it AND land it!Since this was done by 2 different people; common wisdom says that, since he fought it & brought it to the boat, it's HIS catch.
Sorry if that seems unfair, but; think about it:
All you really did, was pick-up someone else's rod, set the hook for him, & hold it until he returned.

Since you were the one that set the hook, you did 75% of the work. Without a solid hookset, he would have never gotten the fish to the boat in the first place. What metal is found in quartz rock?
