I am thinking about learning to fish. How or where do I start?

I have many of them and shoot them regularly.

I recommend them highly. There is no better BANG for your buck in shooting!

I like the Czech light ball and the Hungarian is good too.

You can get some amazing accuracy with some of the surplus ammo. It is not junk and some of it is better than new commercial ammo.

Be sure to clean your tube and receiver right after shooting with windex, dry and then oil everything. Corrosive ammo is nothing to be afraid of!

Do you like fishing!?

yes they are. i have a Mosin Nagant M44. great shooters. while mine is a Russian, i hear the Finnish Mosins are the better. but good luck finding one. the M44 and M38 have a serious muzzle flash and speaks with authority. you also have a Mosin Nagant 91/30, which is the standard rifle. ammo is cheap as hell. u can get a 440 round can for 60 bucks. that ammo will have a silver tip and the ammo is corrosive. the rifles themselves are very cheap as well. mosins of lower quality (roughed up stock, rough looking finish) can be had as low as 70 bucks, while ones of collector grade can go for 180-200. so they are certainly easy on the wallet compared to many other milsurp rifles out there. my M44 is a collector grade and i got it for 150 bucks. i dont have any experience with the 91/30's, but i plan on gettin one soon. one thing of note for the M44, incase you happen to get one. M44's have a permanantly mounted bayonet that folds in. when they were sighted in, they were sighted in with the bayonet folded out. if shot with the bayonet in, the point of impact may be off as much as a foot at 100 yards. but it does not affect all of them. it has something to do with the harmonics of the barrel when it is not out. but they are great shooter, no dout. go to the link i put in sources.just about everything you wanna know about Mosins is there

I would like to find out how to find sponsers for my dirt race car?

They're good rifles. Obviously not the highest quality but, at least around here, you can get them for extremely cheap. There's tons of surplus stocks that have recently come onto the market.

The ammo isn't the easiest to find, but from time to time the stores around here will bring in mil-surplus crates which are a good deal. It's almost always corrosive but whatever.

I think it's a lot of fun to shoot lots of old WWII rifles like mosin nagants, k98's, lee-enfields, garands and so on.

I just signed up for a winter hunting event hosted by Dick Cheney. What should I do?

Never fired one, but have never heard anything but good things from those who have.

Look into the SKS? Great range gun, cheap ammo

Does anyone know any good fishing spots within an hours drive of New Haven CT? The fish has to be edible..?

google

Which should I buy a skateboard or a scooter.?

I've shot a Mosin Nagant 7.62X54 Rifle w/180 grain Full Metal Jacket Bullets, and to me it was about the same as shooting a .30-06. I don't know too much about ammo though. My advice would be www.winchester.com for ammo

I'm looking for a scent hound or blood trail dog club in Southern Indiana. Any suggestions?

I'm in a shooting club, I've seen the Mosin Nagant and watched guys shoot it. My brother owns one. Asked me to look up specs. The 7.62X54 shoots as well as the modern .308 Winchester(I know its the same thing) and pretty much outshoots the 30.06 coming and going! Its a very good rifle at that!

Which company makes better grips for a revolver, Hogue or Pachmayr?

Speaking straight from hip, I've have (2) mosin nagant m-44 carbines and love them to death, both chamber and shoot with good to great when it comes to hitting 4 to 6 inch groups at 150 yards. The only down side to them is trying to mount a scope and also the looks you may get at the range by "uninformed" people, BTW last week at my local range a "gentleman" was running his mouth about his savage 110 in .270 cal, hid did out shoot me at the 150 yard targets, but then again i smoked him at the 100yard after that little contest he asked me to let him fire my m-44, he did and and yesterday i seen him at a local gun store putting one on order to buy.

I'm looking for a wooden ship/boat for my daughter & her friends to climb on, kind of like a swing/playset

I have a 91/30, M44 and a M38. Not a lot of the M38s have been shot a lot and you find a lot of them have been countered bored at the muzzle this is OK as long as it was done right so do not let it scare you off one. you can find cheep ammo on the web there is a lot of it out there. Sports mans guide and cheaper then dirt always has it listed for a fare price. It is a must that if you buy a M44 or a M38 that you shoot it at night at least once, the muzzle flash is sight to behold.

I am looking for a gun case?? Odd size?

It is a great rifle and a lot of fun to shoot if you have someplace to shoot it. I have owned one for 10 years. You can buy them for about $150 in some places, a little more or a little less depending on the condition.

The military surplus ammo for the gun can be hard to find locally, but you can get it at some gun shops and it's available for cheap online. Check out www.cheaperthandirt.com
for their prices.

A word of caution...much of the old cheap military surplus ammo is corrosive. You can still shoot it, but you need to clean your rifle after every trip to the range. You have to use an ammonia and water solution to get out the corrosive salts used in the ammo. I just spray Windex down my barrel and swab it out. Then I clean with regular gun cleaner in the barrel as normal.

Here are a couple good links about Mosin-Nagant. Again, I highly recommend it. I only wish I had a place to shoot mine more often.

Which is better all around Mossy Oak or Realtree?

One the Moisen Negant is a good rifle.BUT the ammo is expensive!!(I OWN ONE TRUST ME) the round is a little bigger than a 308 spring and a little smaller than a 300 winmag. my suggestion is that you go for a 306 or 308 as the ammo is way easier to obtain and way cheaper. I wish I had gone down that road...but I did inherit the Moisin so...
