Herring! I've caught 6 30-50 butts in the last 2 weeks on it, but honestly a halibut will eat just about anything. Salmon entrails and bellies work good, squid, octopus, rock fish, and crabs. I've either used it or found it in the stomachs.Here are some tips:

bighammer swimbaits work well out here on the west coast.as well as squid and anchovies/sardine alive preferably.you can try to spice up you r abits by using pro cure scents on your baits or hotsauce which isnt for tacos ..lol its a scent as well.tight lines, Brian
