Firearms on Pacific Crest Trail?
I'm going on the PCT hike here in about a year. I have not been able to find out if firearms are allowed on the trail in defence of wildlife. Does anyone know the answer to this, or where I can find out this information?

Firearms are allowed on National Forest lands but their use (other than hunting season) is strongly discouraged. Use of firearms is not allowed on National Parks land, if carried on National Parks land they must be unloaded and "broken down".http://www.fs.fed.us/r6/rogue/trails_pac...
