1911 conversion kits available?
What are the different conversion kits available for 1911's? We all know about the .22, but is there anything bigger than the .45?

Question about a new Leupold VXIII that my husband just bought. Some advice, PLEASE!?
check out the .460 rowland kit. the website says it delivers 44 magnum performance in 1911s.http://www.clarkcustomguns.com/rowland.h...
I have not seen anything beyond rimfire. Anthing else would cost you a lot more because when .22 units are made, the manufacturer can use a lot of aluminum. If they were to make a 9mm conversion, it would require more parts and it would be all steel. The price would be alot higher than the $289 tag for something like a Kimber rimfire conversion.
I would use this situation as an excuse to go out and buy another gun. It's a great excuse. "Honey, I cannot find a conversion kit. (sigh) Looks like I have to buy a SECOND GUN."
I stand corrected (again).there is a conversion unit noted below. But I bet it costs an arm and a leg.
What is the best Central Indiana Big Bass Fishing river/lake without a boat??
Bound's hubby here:Besides the common .22 caliber conversion kit for the 1911, there is also a conversion kit (actually a barrel) for the .400 Corbon. Basically, this is a very hot round that is controllable in the 1911. I do not have any first hand knowledge of this cartridge's performance.
Good luck.
