Is this legal?
I have three 12-round pistol magazines that I bought in Kentucky that I would like to take with me when I get out of the Army and go back to California. As I understand it, the legal magazine capacity under California state law is 10 rounds. I would like to know if I would be allowed to keep them since I bought them legally in another state, or if they would be illegal to own in California regardless.

You better contact your police or sheriff's dept in Cal. There may even be issues regarding your pistol. Cal is tough on gun owners.I would shoot off two rounds at the fruits and nuts in CA that come up with those stupid rules.
I have an older H & R 410/.44 breakdown shotgun and lost the forearm assy know where I can find one?
I think the 10 round law was a scam under the Clinton administration to make idiots feel good. It only made it illegal to make them in the us. The dealers could sell what they had in stock. Of course Calofornia is the land of fruits and nuts, so anything goes there. The NR A has worked with some rational lawmakers in several states while you were defending our freedoms to make more states issue concealed carry permits, and theright to defend yourself against bad guys. Most of those permit holders are unrestricted as to what they own or carry as long as it isn't fully auto. And fully auto isn't useful anyway against a 12 with buckshot. Best join the NRA. Read their magazines, You won't have a problem getting a carry permit if you are a clean vet.

They cannot be sold in or shipped to CA, but I believe you can still own them there. Google 'CA weapons banned firearm magazines' and see what shows up.I just did a little checking. This is from Wikipedia. "There are also numerous other laws, such as prohibition on possession of tracer ammunition, handgun armor piercing ammunition, .50 BMG rifles, and the sale or transfer of magazines with a capacity of over 10 rounds"

They are illegal in California, even if you bought them legally in another state. Otherwise, people could just go over the border to Nevada and buy them.California Penal Code Section 12072(g)) references the law. The only way you would be able to bring them in is if you owned them prior to 1 Jan 2000 and lived there, left the state and came back. California has 2 times the amount of gun legislation that the federal government has - I wouldn't move back there...
Which vacuum cleaner is the best for an above ground pool with a vinyl liner?
No.If you had them in CA before 2000 then you are OK, so the Glock mags I paid $75-$85 for in 1998 are legal, but you can't buy hi cap mags in another state and bring them into CA.
If the mags aren't date stamped, and the weapon was available before the AWB, then who's to know? But these are firearms crimes, and might be viewed quite seriously by CA's law enforcement community.
They have a much worse problem with their assault weapon ban and 'off list lowers', the AWB is and was silly, it doesn't stop criminals and the definitions of what is and isn't allowed are spurious.

I wouldn't worry about it. Just take them home and keep quite about it. I'm glad that I don't live in California. High capacity magazines are OK in Montana.Where do sign up for hunting license classes in Burlington c.t and how much does it cost?
I thought the 10 round law was federal after regan and brady got shot... Called the brady bill. That law was only for a few years and now you can purchase weapons with larger shell capacity again. I dont think California has a different rule but they might. To make them legal all you have to do is take them apart and put a small piece of wood under the spring bottom.. Like shot guns called a plug only allowing 10 rounds to be loaded at any one time. Unless you take them apart which isnt easy. Like any weapon that holds larger amounts of ammo. You can still use them to hunt with as long as this plug is in place. But check with the state they will answer your questions on line pretty easily, or with one phone call they will tell you.Hook and swivel size chart on line?
