What is the difference between .45 auto and .45 ACP ammunition?

Where should I learn to Paraglide?

The 2 you have listed above are the same round i believe. If you are refering to the 45 GAP vs the 45 ACP then the GAP is slightly higher in overall stats. Higher FPS & Energy go to the GAP.

Here is an artical to help if that was infact what your asking. If the 45 Auto and the 45 ACP are not the same round then I assure you that someone will correct my statement. I believ that Auto is slang and its really the ACP.

Heres the artical:

Nomenclature is not standardized in firearm calibers, leading to much confusion over the years.

It's like a secret code that's used to keep the uninitiated guessing.

.45 Automatic Colt Pistol
.45 auto
.45 acp

All the same... as MRS stated so well!!!

Shotgun manufacturers firearms?

The first two answers are generally correct. The terms are interchangeable.

However, the is also a .45 Long Colt (LC) and a .45 Auto Rim (AR), which are different than the .45 ACP. .45 "auto" most likely refers to the ACP and not the Auto Rim.

.45 Auto Rim is a fairly rare cartridge which will not function in semi-autos but can be shot in some revolvers. The link below provides some more detail.

Again, I suspect most people use the terms interchangeably, so they mean the same thing.

Poison Algae? Does anyone know?

The Big Shot is correct and also he remembered the old Auto Rim cartridge. This is where it matters. You don't want to try to shoot the .45 Auto Rim out of an automatic chambered for the .45 acp. The rest of the .45s are generally different enough to not be confused with the .45 GAP being slightly shorter than the acp and again not interchangeable between the two.

Best.

What are the laws concerning hunting/owing rifles in California?

Should be the same, but if you're buying from a manufacturer that isn't a member of SAAMI or CIP, you might want to put the micrometer to it before firing.

Can anyone what the curio and relic license information website is??

You can shoot 45 ACP in a weapon designed for 45 ACP.
“BUT” there are 3 different type of 45 auto ammo.
You have the,
45 ACP the most popular of rounds.
45 Auto Rim it’s still around in limited quantities.
45 GAP a all new round made by Glock, for that is shorter then the standard 45 ACP and can not be shot in a 45 ACP.
The ACP stands for Automatic Colt Pistol, where as the GAP stands for Glock Automatic Pistol.
The difference is rim and length.

None of these ammo will inter change, you must shoot only the ammo designed for your weapon.

So in short if the ammo don’t match what the weapon was designed to shoot don’t shoot it.
For there are 3 different types of 45 Auto ammo that will not inter change.

Sage VT2 or Sage XP - which should I build ?

Same thing. But becareful if the box says .45 GAP that ammo is only good for pistols that fire that round. The GAP is shorter than the .45 Auto or the .45 Auto Colt Pistol ammo
