I am an NRA Life Member, and think everybody who appreciates their freedom should be an NRA member. The NRA is the oldest civil rights organization in America, and without the right to defend yourself, no other right means anything. The NRA also helps educate people about guns, something valuable to not only new gun owners, but also people like me who have owned guns almost 40 years.
Please explain what you don't like about the NRA's politics. My guess is you have been told things that are not true by people who hate the NRA.

Any south african hunters or ppl who have hunted there about?

If you want a neverending supply of junk mail, join the NRA. They do have two magazines that are good magazines that you get with membership, but that's about it. I was a member of the NRA for awhile, but their constant begging for money really turned me off.

When shooting a fire arm how come the rekasha never hit the shooter?

surely, there is a common ground there.

What do you think i need to do to...?

Yes mam.

Can cars be turned into stationery bicycles machine so you could pedal during rush hour traffic to exercise?

Aside from the political aspect (which I generally ignore) The NRA is the body in the U.S. that promotes Gun safety and formal competition, the magazines are good too. I shoot in competition so basically have to be a member but even if I didn't I still would be a member, It is worth it to join.

Can I hunt wild boar on vacation in Carcassonne France?

I have been hunting and owned guns for over 5 decades, I DON'T belong to the NRA, I like some others feel like their politics do not coincide with mine, and I was a mailman for many years and saw all the extra mail and I don't need that either. My wife has cancer and all of my give away money goes to cancer research not a lobby group. When I want my Congress man to know how I feel I sit down and write them letter, or call, along with sending them e-mails.

Addendum; When you buy a hunting license your congress man has that information available to him and takes that into consideration along with carry permits from his constituency. What some of the pro NRA folks haven't said is that the NRA sells your information to who ever will buy it to bring in more money, so not only are you getting more information from them but are also getting it from other folks as well, as for their being the lobbyist to defend the 2nd amendment, that it true but only the parts that they agree with and not fully with the 2nd amendment. I will add one more thing and then I am done and will move on, If the time ever comes that the government decides to take away all of our weapons then the very first place that they will go is to the NRA to determine who owns guns and that is where they will start. Some onee will have to make a better argument for me to change my mind, you do as you will, but for me I won't be joining.

Should a law be passed allowing for a lawyer hunting season?

When you say that you don't like their politics it makes me curious. The NRA only has a political stand on one issue: the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. I would encourage you to look at their web site and see what they believe for yourself. If you believe that the 2nd Amendment actually means "...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" then you do agree with their politics. The NRA is a political organization and after you decide how you feel about their politics, then you can decide if you should join. They lobby for gun owners rights and I believe that gun owners benefit by being member but if you don't agree with their politics then you should not.

Can a .45 stop a lion?

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by you don't like their politics. Their politics revolve pretty much just around Second Ammendment issues, although they do also promote wildlife conservation (yes, hunting is also part of that, though they do promote more). The NRA has also been criticized by the GOA (gun owners of america) for being to accepting of gun control measure (the GOA is for pretty much entirely unregulated ownership).

My guess is that you've been led to believe you don't like their politics.

Now, like any membership group, the real benefits to any individual member aren't really the reason to join the group. You get your choice of 3 magazines w/ your subscription. American Rifleman (my choice), American Hunter (good articles, definitely something I like to read), and America's 1st Freedom (never read, but it's strictly about political issues of the day regarding the 2nd Ammendment). You also have your standard offers for the credit card and life insurance and all that. You do get a lot of Emails, which I think are mostly fairly important if you are concerned about the 2nd Ammendment, but you can opt out of getting them. They also issue "Report Cards" at election time, which are sent out with your magazine. Basically they detail who is most gun friendly. They often will give good grades to very liberal candidates so long as the candidate is gun friendly, as that is the issue they grade them on, so it isn't just conservatives they approve of. They give bad grades to ANYONE who isn't gun friendly. Not something you NEED or have to follow, but it's one more thing to make you more educated about what you vote for (for the love of God, tell me you vote!).

The main benefit however is that the NRA is considered the most powerful lobbying group on the hill. Your membership helps fund that. As I said, don't listen to what others tell you about their politics, find out for yourself. They deal with gun issues and wildlife issues, that's it. So as a gun owner, I would think you wouldn't mind them lobbying for you.

Oh, you also get two free stickers for your car when you join, lol.

I think all gun owners should join the NRA. They only lobby for your gun rights (and a little bit of wildlife conservation), so your money is going to support your gun ownership. Unless you don't WANT to own your gun.

Is WD40 a good oil for like?

With all the Socialist Libertards like Billary, Sorry Brady and their cronies doing their best to disarm law-abiding Americans, the pittance the N.R.A. asks for a membership is money well spent, as there are few others doing anything to keep Free Americans their Constitutional Rights!
Not only that, but if one can afford it, one's BEST bet would be to join N.R.A. AND Gun Owners of America as Life members, on the time payment plan, which both organizations offer.
With the Socialist plots being hatched in D.C. RIGHT NOW, one BEST sign up TODAY!

P.S: When the gun-grabbing Storm Troopers come knocking on YOUR door, don't blame US, 'cause WE TRIED when YOU WOULDN'T! ! !
