Handgun question?
what does +p in ammo mean? example: 9mm+p
Answers:
I have recently started shooting compound bows and the string keeps hitting my forearm why is this?
The +P means that ammunition is loaded to generate a higher chamber pressure than standard SAAMI pressure specifications. (Although SAAMI will establish pressure specifications for +P ammunition too. For example, standard 9mm Parabellum develops a peak pressure of 35,000 PSI. However, SAAMI specs give a max chamber pressure for 9mm +P ammunition as being 38,500 PSI.) This is usually done to increase the velocity of bullet fired, since higher pressure equates to more thrust. Higher pressure also equates to greater wear on the firearm, so make sure your particular firearm can handle +P ammunition before using it.Cooking camps for teens near los angeles that are long?
larger powder loadplus power
It used to stand for a "proof" load.higher than normal pressure to test the strength of the firing components like the cylinder wall strength, and barrel. Ammo manufacturers now use the term to describe a heavier "punch" load, but also to let a shooter know that it should only be used in a fairly modern firearm that can handle that load.

IIRC, +P indicates pressure above SAAMI standard specs. Can the grips be modified on a Hi-Point cf .380?
The +P just means that they have loaded it with more powder, which will increase the pressures and gives you a more powerful load. I would caution against using it in some firearms though, i know at least some of the older handguns arnt designed to handle the increased pressures. What the biggest fish in your fishing?
They also come in the 38/357 round just for a HEADS-UP. Any way the "+P" as you state is just a hotter round, it is a compromise between the lets say the 38 & 357mag. More punch the a standard 38 round but less recoil the the 357 mag.I hope this info was helpful.
