How do I get a job as a crab fisherman?
How do i get in contact with boat captains so i may get a job as a greenhorn on a boat.

Okay,on a serious note...crab fishing is different down here in LA. You could check around some places like Venice, Grand Isle, etc (try the web). You might find a job on a shrimp boat.many of them also go after crabs and oysters depending on the season. I have a friend that is a dedicated crabber on Lakes Ponchartrain and Marepas..but he just does it by himself mostly. It is pretty much a family business around here so it may not be easy to get a job.
I know plenty of places you can drop a few nets off the side of the road and load up on blue crabs. They are plantiful here.
Most of those boats you see on The Deadliest Catch, have their own websites, and you can contact them that way.
They also caution that jobs are slim to none. Most of those guys have been doing it for years, or are family.

Its very difficult to become one of those who catches ophelia crabs..those jobs are almost slim to none..you have to no people to get in..if you want to be a commercial crabber that catches blue or dungeness crabs you need a license and you could do it yourself.Are tracer rounds for a .45 ACP illegal in GA?
The best way if you don't know someone who owns a boat or works on a boat is to work at the processing plants around the docks. Then when you get off of your shift from the processing plant go to the bars and talk with the crewman or skippers. That way you can start to get in with them and show them that you are interested in a job. Usually the greenhorns on the boats leave after just one trip and they pick up people interested around the docks.What should i do that little fishes dont eat the bait?
get off the puter and off your a-- and go to AK and get busy meetin & talkin to people, they aren't gonna recruit you from here...you have to work on different boats like a salmon boat first experence is what they take they dont just take some kid the has never worked on a boat before 5 years experence on a cod boat or a salmon boat
