Ummm, it is impossible for a normal average intelligence to get trapped in a sleeping bag on there own accord. Sleeping bags have 1 opening where the head should be and zip up about 85% of the way. Entrance = Exit. Tada! Not to hard huh? Now if you manage to find a bag that zips 100%, and you get zipped inside on your own... never leave the bag. Just wait for help, as long as it takes... maybe Darwin will pay you a visit. If you are purposely trapping people, thats different. Thats like throwing a rat in a maze with no exit and no goal, just cheese smell everywhere with no cheese. Well, yes and no. It certainly is possible for a person to catch a bit of the bag lining in the zipper and not be able to unzip the bag without damaging it. So, in that respect it is possible to get trapped in a sleeping bag and need someone to help you out so that you don't do damage to the bag. On the other hand, anyone with a little bit of exertion can force the zipper of any bag open if he couldn't get the zipper down and had no one to help him out. So, yes you can get trapped but it is not a situation where you are trapped and cannot get out at all.Yes it would be possible, in a mummy style sleeping bag.
I am not sure of the official name for them, but we call them mummy bags, they are for extreme conditions, they fit kind of tightly, you get inside the bag then zip it up from the inside, then there is a draw string you cinch up around your face.
When you are all the way in the bag all that is exposed is your face.
If the zipper stuck you could get stuck inside, but the places I have been where I needed my mummy bag I would never be there alone, so someone would be there to help you get out.

yes and no yes the zipper can get caught on the lineing of the sleeping bag that would keep it from zipping up or down all you do is unzip in reverse order from the way you were zipping if this should ever happen to you. it mostly happens with any sleeping bag when you try to zip/unzip the bag fast.
