Best 150hp outboard for a bay boat. Yamaha or Honda?
I'm getting a 21' bay boat soon and was wondering if people could help me with the decision to go 150hp outboard from either Yamaha or Honda. Which do you consider the best and why? Thanks.

Mercury or Evinrude is better.Definitley Honda. I live in a fishing community and that's what all the guys go for, Honda 4 strokes. Reliable, easy to maintain and low on problems.

either one is a fine motor. go with the one that has the best dealer/ parts/ repair in your area.Yamaha... I used to live on the coast of NC, a ton of offshore fishing with the gulf stream about 45 miles offshore. To get there, and to get to all the boxcars/artificial reefs, you gotta have a well-built motor that can take the swells. I had a 22' Grady White that i took out at least 3 times a week during the summer, and in the 3 years i owned it, i never had to take it back to the dealer for maintenance. I also have one on my 18' War Eagle (a little over-powered, but what can i say) and have hunted out of it for 5 years, and never had any problems. Both were 2 strokes, so if you get one, get the 2-stroke.less smoke and noise, more efficient
