Dang, I can't top some of your answers, but I used to fish alot in Texas..I caught a pretty fat catfish once --- sortof looked retarted, his head was so big..should have been longer for the size of the head...He still tasted good, tho...and I've caught many 3-5 lb. bass...but those got thrown back..and they FEEL LIKE you've got a gigantic fish on your line!
A crappie will lightly nip and tug....whereas a bass will yank your arm off....lol!
So --- I'm sure that right after some of the bass catches..when I saw the line move --- I probably ripped the lips off of some crappie, attempting to set the hook, and then... didn't have a 'fish'......afterall.

I was night fishing at a heavily pressured lake, and I was flipping a worm into a weed bed. At 2am, I hooked into a bass that, at first didn't feel any different than the regular 12,13 inch bass at this lake. Being I was fishing in weeds, as soon as I hooked the bass, I started to reel him in very fast. When I pulled him out of the water, I relized I had a 5+ pound bass. I took a pic, and released the bass, to catch when she's a lot bigger. I also caught a 13 inch crappie once.my almost the big-est fish i cough was 60 cm
