I need a tranq gun for transporting deer what kind should i get? What would I havet to do to register it in MO? Is it like registering any other gun? Where should I get the darts from and the sedative? What kind of sedative should i get? HELP

Sure you can buy any gun you have $ for, but is it legal to use and do you have the training in Drugs and Fireing Properties of a Dart, its a big differance from a Bullet or Spiral Projectile. Doesnt take a rocket scientist, but does take some skill and knowledge.In most states you also have to have some sort of a waiver or something from HSPCA and the Water,Fish,Fowl and Game board. That name changes as you enter different states. You also may need to check with the Federals to get permitted to use that type of rifle effectively.

why do you want to transport live deer, are the domesticated?amouroushotmama you are completely wrong. deer are not harmless and gone unchecked they cause serious crop damage. i live in farm country and have seen it first hand. i hunt many farms throughout my area and the farmers are more then happy to have me keep out the deer that damage acres of crops every year.

I would suggest not trying to do this yourself. Sedating and transporting ungulates is a very tricky deal. I have a lot of knowledge of chemical immobilization of wildlife I can tell you it's a very involved. You can't even get the chemicals to do it yourself anyway. You would need to have a vet there to administer the drugs and ensure that the animal is kept alive, etc. So, if you do need to do it for any reason, leave it to the professionals.i agree with the comment of asking MODOWC i guarantee you this is probably not legal. MO has a different viewpoint about wildlife in the state. The State Biologists will come to you and dart and transport if necessary or destroy animal if that is applicable. Start by calling your local game warden should be in the blue pages. I know of an axis farmer in South Tx who has his own tranq gun and he is a biologist for a game ranch even with the proper doseage the chances are too high that the animal will expire.
