Home made fishing equipment cart?
Question:I grew up doing a lot of fishing with my dad; time has passed and I am begining to pass the torch on to my own son. Life has taken many twists and turns for me so I have not done a lot of fishing in far too many years. When I did a lot of saltwater fishing, people used to have these homemade carts out of wagons or hand trucks that stowed all their gear and usually a cooler for a snack or two. Does anyone have any advice on building one of those?
Thanks.

it depends on where you fish and what you need to carry. if you're fishing where you need to pull it over sand and dirt you will want big tires for example but if you're pier fishing you can get away with smaller narrower ones. then you need to decide what you need to carry, tackle boxes, bait buckets, cooler, extra jackets or rain gear, fish box, seating and other things. what material can you work with, wood, steel, or what. how big and heavy can you handle and fit into your car, how many rods, and so on. define your needs and capabilties then figure out best way to go. a nice new one costs between $ 250 and $500. maybe you could find a used one. good luck and good fishing. the hours i spent fishing with my kids are treasured. if he is young be prepared to do a lot of guiding and little fishing for a while and let him be a kid. he's apt to want to stop if the fish arn't biting so let him shell pick or build a sand fort instead until the bite resumes. What is the best rifle in .22LR?
I made a 2 wheel golf cart into a fishing cart. A few "C" brackets to hold a piece of plywood to the upright and a couple "L" brackets at the bottom with a piece of plywood 12"x16" the size of my cooler then tackle bag on top.For holding the rods 2 more "C" brackets on the back near bottom and a bunjee cord near top to hold bag and rods.It may not be as fancy as the aluminum 4 wheel wagons the locals use but it works great when walking out on the ocean piers.
