What part of a Steyr Aug requires FFL?
like many guns, the "receiver" is normally what needs to be registered. but what about a Aug? is it the trigger pack or something else? please provide proof. ;)

The receiver is the only part needing an ffl for legal transfer, since it's not a class 3 weapon the sear isn't registered, ANYONE who can legally buy, own and operate a firearm in the USA can own a Steyr Aug(semi only) If it is in fact the full auto(select fire) version of the steyr aug, then the sear is registered and a class 3 tax stamp and cerification is required to legally transfer it.the part in my pants requires an FFL since its illegal to carry a compact single shot concealed weapon.

As far as I know you have to have a class 3 license to even think about owning one. It is a tactical assult rifle that is issued to the swat teams and military. So I would believe it to be the lower reciever, as it has never been made to fire as a semi auto full time.More Questions & Answers...
