In around 70*F water, that is slightly murky, and has moderate weeds, what color crankbaits are most productive?

Serious bass anglers need only respond. If you don't know what milfoil is and what the 2 main types are, please don't use my question for an easy 2 points!! I am fishing in late spring, post-spawn. I don't have much productivity using crankbaits. What brand, colors, and depth do you catch most and biggest fish with?

This time of year it can be hard to trigger strikes - contrary to popular thinking. I'd use some sort of floating crank that dives to no more than 3-4 ft. upon retrieve. Anything in a shad color will work since that makes up a significant portion of bass diet this time of year. If you're fishing over milfoil, cast to the edge, retrieve quickly for the first 3 or 4 feet and then let it float back up to the top. It simulates a shad scurrying away from the bass which usually makes them come out and hit it. Stop and go retrieves tend to work really well at this time of year. If you're hell-bent on using cranks, go for it. Let me suggest, however, floating worms in the early and late parts of the day. They are killer here in NC. Zoom puts out a color called tomatoe that I've had a lot of luck w/ lately. Don't forget about the trusty ol' buzz bait either, you can usually do some damage w/ one of those if you throw it up to a grassy bank and just slow roll it.

Good luck.

I have been having great strikes on jitterbus like the Arboghast Hocus Locust in yellow as well as a Heddon 4 and a half Zara in green and chartruesse. And last but not least a orange and yellow Rattletrap.

I wouldn't use crankbaits in those conditions. Instead, I would recommend using a Terminator T-1 3/8 oz. white spinnerbait, which is almost completely weedless, and the bright color will attract fish in the murky water. Let it sink to about 5 feet off the bottom and slowly bring it in. If the fish are active, speed up the retrieve and you will be able to cover more water in a shorter amount of time. Adding a trailer would make the lure even more effective, but you don't have to. I also recommend Jitterbugs, but they usually don't work well until late June.

Good Luck!

Where can I find pictures of J Henry Rifles?

Warm, stained water is best fished with a darker color. I use black or purple Plastics, rigged carolina or Texas style. I suppose a darker colored crankbait would have similar success, though you would want to concentrate in the areas that the fish like to hide such as docks, lilly pads and stumps..

Does anyone know anything about guns on here- there isn't a shooting category that I can see?

mimick the bait fish at all times, rather its shad or bluegill. match the hatch, i know you get tired of hearing that, so do i
