Black bear in camp,twice?
Drove bear away,found some food he dropped, followed him away some distance(like an idiot) with only an axe until I heard him breaking off some heavy sticks,I turned chicken and made my back to camp clearing.Aprox. two minutes later he stood up on hind legs exactly where I came out to clearing.Questions,was he hunting me at that point?Was he just curious at my macho stupidity? By the way he was taller than the young trees of aprox.six feet.

He might have come back for the food he dropped.You should always leave the area after having an encounter with a bear, because they often return to the same spot within the same night. I found this out the hard way.
Bring a gun. DO NOT shoot the bear. You will not kill it. But a 38 45 or 9mm will SCARE it away.

Normally, black bears are not aggressive. Are you sure it wasn't a griz. The situation does change when cubs are involved, but usually black bears will avoid a confrontation and just try to keep their cubs and themselves out of contact with anything human.P.S. bear spray is much more effective than any handgun against any type of predator
