Firearms selling ethics?

Question:Today I bought my first firearm: a Glock 19. It came in a plastic box that the dealer called "tupperware." I asked him if the gun was brand new and he told me that it was. He explained that they send these guns in these cases when they are sending them a significant amount of them.

I immediately took it to the range and 100 rounds went through with no problem. One of the other shooters asked me where I got the gun from and for how much, and when I told him where I got it, he told me to check the gun out as they had a shady reputation.

I called Glock to see what they could tell me about the specific weapon. They told me they couldn't tell me who the gun was sent to, but that the gun was made in 2000. He went on to hint that the gun may have been a rebuilt police pistol, but that it was not uncommon to see a weapon sit around for years before being bought. But I don't believe a Glock 19 would sit around for 6 years in a high traffic area like this.

Bound's hubby here:

First, when you filled out the Federal Form 4473, did you notice how they identified the Pistol, either new or used? If he falsified the information on the 4473, he may have just jeopardized his FFL.

If I remember correctly, you are in Virginia. What I would suggest ...

First, check in the "tupperware case" for a product registration card. (By the way, the Glocks typically come in a "tupperware" style box the color of the pistol, with a peg in it to hold the pistol in place at the trigger guard.)

Second, if the product registration card is not there, either e-mail Glock at: sales@usglock.com or call them directly and tell them that you just purchased a Model 19 as new, but the product registration card was missing, and you want to register your pistol as the original owner to take advantage of the warranty.

Third, if they are hesitant, ask if you are in fact the original registered owner for that pistol/serial number. You should get an honest answer.

Fourth, if you are told that you are not the original owner, or Glock will not help you, call the Headquarters of the Virginia State Police, and ask to speak to the section that oversees or licenses gun dealers in Virginia. You may start a fire storm ... but you did purchase your handgun as new, and if you were defrauded, you are entitled to legal recourse!

Good luck!

On my spyder pilot i adjust the trigger but after shooting it it just goes back to where it was to start with?

Take it to another dealer for a inspection. Don't tell him where you purchased it. Tell him it was a friend. If he say's it's not new & that it's been re-built ask for a short statement so you can get money back from your friend. Take the statement back to the dealer and demand a refund or you will take him to small claims court. I wouldn't want to pay full price for a used gun!

What finish time should a beginner triathlete work towards?

alright you need to call your local police department and have tehm to a weapons history check on your guns serial number and find out if it is used or not and also if you dont trust your firearms dealer then you need to do some investigating on them also and file a complaint with your local better business burea

I just bought a longboard with two pairs of trucks.?

Hey, Just be happy that you can still buy it..
The Democrats are trying to block your buying of items like that.

Quit worrying about it. If you fired 100 rounds thur it it is OK.

How many people go or have a paintball gun?

As far as checking the history, I don't know if still available, but bought a used glock a few years ago, and glock had a place on their website to enter the serial number, I don't give the actua ownership history of the gun but would tell you manufacturing specs (date, place , etc). Also contrary to Mobys statement above, the police cannot tell you history of any gun, I am a police officer and we do have the ability to check serial number on a gun to see if it is stolen, but if it is not reported stolen, we get no info at all on it (this is in FL however and I can't speak diffinatively for police in every state)
