Kerosene spilled all over my backpack-how can I clean it? not just lose the smell?
We went for a wet week camping/fishing and were using some leftover kerosene to light the wet wood and it sprang a leak on the way to camp. It spilled all over the back of the 4-runner and resulted in my backpack becoming soaked. We boiled some water on the hot fire and poured it over a few times. When we got home we used some Simplegreen and some more rinsing but it still smells as fresh as ever. Help! I am worried about using my pack on any outings as well as trying not to smell like a fuel bomb when we are in the truck. yes we both smoke. arrgggh. Surely we aren't the first to spill kerosene so I am hoping to hear from someone else with the same problem. Thank you and happy trails

coca-cola uses it to de-grease the engines on the vehicles they have and police in the states carry it in their trunks to clean blood off the roads. very useful but how good is it for you to drink?
I'm sat on the beach as i type, why cant i get my kite to fly?
It may not be possible to clean it. I don't know. Maybe ask a dry cleaner in your area.Rubbing alcohol.
Try FANTASTIC,not sure if it will work but I have used it on some tough stuff and was surprised in it,and someone else on this question and ans. suggested it another time. You may have to go over the areas several times and rinse.Only problem it may remove the water proofing however you can do your pack sack again with a Scotch guard spray.EDIT---- the ans. after this one looks better .
