You also need to have respect for the animal, confidence in your ability to make a clean shot, safe and courteous hunting ethics, and the habits of the animal you are going to harvest.
A bow or gun is capable of humanely harvesting an animal. Just make sure of your target.
It is very refreshing to see someone with an interest in hunting and I wish you the best. Those that think it is inhumane are usually armchair TV watchers that don't realize what Mother Nature is all about, and should just go eat another Big Mac and think about what kind of meat they're eating.
Shaky Head Worm: How and when do you fish it? Small and Largemouth...?
If you're killing an animal to eat it, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's actually a more honest approach to eating meat than my weekly trips to the grocery store. I'm not a hunter, but I think it's stupid when non-hunters criticize those who do hunt.I'm not a big fan of sport hunting, but it doesn't mean it's wrong. If animals are being killed to control their population and prevent overcrowding, and if that's what people enjoy, then who am I to say it's wrong?

Deer hunting is fine as long as you can use most of the animal for a purpose i.e. food clothing shelter, but if you are just doing for the heck of it and you are leaving the poor thing there just to die then maybe you should be the being hunted.Pse tell me the that matches the number plate gd02xfp?
It's not wrong, some people say it is murder but it is just a sport like any other if you stay by the point...Hi i was wondering if there is any farm fishing about 2 or 3 hours from chicago.?
Personally, I find the sport of killing anything a bit sick. But I live in an area where deer are severly overpopulated. I can't drive a few miles without seeing carcasses littering the highway. And I fear hitting them with my own vehicle so much. They are a big problem in many areas, so I have no problem with others who hunt deer. I just could never do it myself. Is there a website for dam and when they turn on the water for better fishing?
I don't really like hunting. It seems unfair to me. Why kill for fun? If you kill and eat, and use a gun, I can tolerate that. I deplore bow hunting however. It is much more painful for the animal, and bow hunters often reuse the same arrow to finish an animal off as it is on the ground. Then they remove that arrow and use it for the next deer. Make your own decision by all means, but I don't really feel good about hunting.if done as sort yes if done as food no

When the economies crash and war engulphs the world.. we will be thrown back into the dark ages and those that don't know how to hunt won't survive..deer population is rising in many areas. if they are not kept in check, then they destroy crops and spend more time on the highways (bad for your fenders) doesnt matter how people feel about the politics of it. follow the law of the jungle - kill only to eat or to keep from being eaten

I have always been a huge animal lover and thought that I would never be able to take a living creatures life - unless it was for absolute survival. Then I met my husband last April and when I moved to Canada to start my life with him, he took me hunting. He has been doing it his whole life. I had been shooting guns for almost 9 years and I have great accuracy and love to shoot.
When I shot my first animal (a grouse), it was exhilarating - I was addicted from that moment on! Last fall I shot 7 grouse, 5 rabbits and my husband shot a 13 point elk!
We have enjoyed eating everything we killed - I would have felt bad if we had just wasted it all. In fact, the elk meat lasted us from the end of September until just last month.
I am totally looking forward to going out again this fall and getting more grouse and another elk!
So just try it - you will know right away if you are going to love it or hate it. I hope that you have as great of a time as I did - have fun hunting!
Traditional archery shops in michigan?
hi,i agree with you.
The reason why the Lord put animals on this earth is for us to eat them, maybe not in the garden of eden, is for us to eat them.
Not to kill them just for sport.
And that should go with most any animal. ^_^
But i believe if you are planning on killing them for sport, dont let them go to waste.
I think you have a nice, kind heart towards animals, ( i love them too).
Is there a certain draw weight that you need for a bow?
Deer Hunting is essential to a healthy deer population. When deer become over populated they die from starvation and disease. It's wonderful that you want to hunt for food instead of a trophy though. Trophy hunting is horrible, the hunters take the head or just the rack and leave the rest to rot. yuck.Does Cabela have listing of hunting and fishing properties for sale?

It is great that you are picking up the sport of hunting. Good luck to you. I don't think you should listen to the advice about bow hunting that vengeful_hippie posted. You can kill a large animal quickly and ethically with an arrow. And most of the time an arrow is destroyed after a shot, so reusing them usually isn't an option. However, if the arrow is recovered in one piece, it can be straightened and used again. I shot a moose in September 2001 with an arrow and it was dead in less than 30 seconds. It is all about ssot placement.I hunt deer and squirrel, but you can't compare them to polar bear or something Else like wolves. I don't agree with hunting those type of animals there rare and I don't even think you could hunt polars. And I frown on hunting wolves or even moose. But that's why we have game management and conservation. If your gonna start hunting be safe and learn as much as you can.
Has anyone else had problems with the Lee 1000 Pro Progressive press?
Hunting serves multiple purposes, population management, feeding humans, and generating tax revenues in the process. That "evil sport hunting" you are talking about finances the governments of many South African nations. Also, sport hunting leads to reintroduction of extinct species because of the profit involved. Poachers are the only ones who destroy the environment and give nothing back.deer hunting is not wrong. as a hunter myself i feel very proud. i get what u r saying. i never have shot a doe and will never. a buck is a different story. what if u were stranded out in the woods miles and miles away from home and a nice 12 pt walked out. u were starving. wouldnt u shoot it? some ppl like myself kill deer every year and then eat them. there is nothing wrong with it.
Any recommendations for a good hunting rifle?
Practice your shots on range and make the 1st one in the field count. Be sure of your target and don't let the animal suffer. You make a good hunter after taking hunter's safety course and adopt your own code of ethics.I have hunted for several years and there are really two sides to it. Not all deer hunters are in it for the same reason. Some people (like me and others I hunt with) are in it because we like venison and we enjoy spending the time out hunting. We all respect the deer. If you think hunting is easy try sitting still for several hours and picking out a deer in the woods.they have the advantage even with all the modern equipment and technology hunters may try to use. I have deer walk 20 feet behind me and I didn't even see them. They are made to be stealthy and blend with the forest. They are good at it too! Another reason to hunt (as stated several times above) is that the deer have few natural predators anymore. All the wolves and coyotes are pretty much gone so their population is left unchecked by mother nature. The result is starvation (a cruel and horrible way for an animal to die), cars hitting them, etc. So hunters play a role that is missing in the woods.
Some hunters are out there because they just want to say they killed something - I don't condone this type of hunting. I think it is wrong to kill something just to kill it - be it a deer, bear or anything else.
One other point to consider...anyone who says beef is always humane way to get meat has never been to a meat processing plant...it is a an experience that will stay with you the rest of your life.
Ultimately the decision is yours but keep in mind it is the people and their decisions that make something good or bad, not the sport itself. As with everything there are responsible people and those who aren't. Just pick the right side : )
