Gun owners in the UK.?
whats it like to be a gun owner in UK. are they even aloud any if so are the gun laws strict. what type of firearms are allowed? can you hunt, what kind of game? I know beagling is big over there right? I'm US and I always wondered how it's gonna be like for us if the second amendment continues to be threatened.

as far as i know the only people that can legally have guns are police and farmers (perhaps some vets)to be honest i think it is a good thing we have enough problems with violence never mind with guns!!

They can buy rifles, shotguns and muzzle-loading pistols, but they need to be granted a certificate by the police and be part of a recognized club before they are even allowed near one. They can hunt various types of game but in the UK there is only really small game for hunting. Not sure on beagling.How do i put on micro shot and how do you use shot pliers?
Sorry, since we in the UK are no longer living in caves - i dont see the point in hunting; its cruel and .. well its just cruel.Guns are only good for shooting; if there is nothing to shoot, you just shoot eachother.
Solution: Put all the gun owners in a big stadium and lock the doors. They'll shoot eachother and we will all be safe - lol.

You can still posess a firearm in the uk but you have to prove a genuine need to posess one (landowners, members of rifle clubs, hunting) but its a long winded proccess even when you have proved that need, and the authorities will find any excuse they can do fail your application. Handguns are still allowed under very strict circumstances. You have to be a gamekeeper or a professional hunter and the gun's magazine must be modified to only hold 2 bullets. The situation over here is absurd. Don't get me wrong, I understand and support the need for certain gun gun controls but our government is trying to go too far. They are currently trying to ban the sale and import of any lifelike replicas, bb guns, blank firers and deactivated guns. The official line is because they believe that more gun crimes are commited using replicas or decommisioned guns than the real thing, however I believe its more like they just don't want anyone outside of the police and armed forces being familar with guns and their operation.

you need a gun licence to own a gun and the only guns available are shot guns for hunting rabbits , pheasants etc and rifles or high powered air guns for use when hunting the above and deer .
then only mark men can have hand held guns for competition only .
shotguns are used for sporting reasons like clay pigeons etc too.
you can have bolt guns for killing animals that either are suffering or for food , these need two licences one for the gun and one to allow you to humanely kill the animal .
unlike America we cant have guns at home for personnel safety our laws are different when it comes to protecting our property but that's a different kettle of fish .
you have to show police officer in charge of the gun license where you are going to shoot and they meet the land owner to see if the land is big enough for the chosen gun . this is the only way to get a gun in this country . unless your a police man but even then they don't carry fire arms there are armed police that get called in if they need to be to resolve a situation .
