Question:freshwater, not looking for ultra-expensive poles and reels, just an all-around, decent gear to have fun with during spring and summer in dupage or mississipi river. thanks in advance.
p.s. it'll be used in the banks or piers. no offshore.

but an inside tip use heavy abrasion resistant line for heavy cover and soft plastics and jigs and a long stiff rod and for schooling fish on open water in the summer use tops waters 12lb line and a medium rod with a stiff tip baitcasters are the best Shakespeare Axium and a berkly cherrywood are good chioces hope this helps there is alot to this fishing stuff so be more specific about what u plan to do wit ur rods and reels
