Use a light oil for chains and bearings. WD40 is more for loosening stuck bolts, cleaning, and stopping squeaks on doors.Who knows the names of the famous hunting gun brands?
it's good on chains, bad on skateboard wheels. if the liquid gets in contact with the inside of the wheel bearings it can damage them. after all that's what wd stands for. w(ater) d(isplacement) since it will dry out the grease in the bearings.Need help on camping for first time?

Not as a permanent lube. WD 40 stands for: Water Displacement experiment #40.It does provide temporary relief for squeeking parts. I love it for cleaning dirty parts prior to putting a permenant lube such as Slick 50 Pump lube.
It's great for cleaning tar and grease off your hands.
