Any advice on mounting a fish? Replica Method.?
Has anyone had a fish mounted using the replica method? What do they need to do it properly? And most importantly how does it look when done? We always catch a few big fish but I have never done this because I know nothing about it. We are not allowed to take big fish as trophies

I also have replicas. Done by a quality taxidermist, they are actually a much better mount than a skin mount. They will last longer and look nearly identical to skin mounts. All you need is a picture of your catch and length and girth measurements. take a pic of the fish holding it across ur body.measure the length,girth,and weight.

I have several fish mounted this way, is the only way. I am a firm believer in catch and release. The mounts are beautiful and well done. Make sure you find a reputable person to create the mounts. What you need to do in order to do this is a couple of things. Take pictures of the fish from both sides and from the front. Make sure you take accurate measurements of length and girth of the fish. Also be sure to get the weight. From there, let the taxidermist do their thingif done properly the replica will last for ever!
Take pictures and many of them,full length,of head,close ups of specific areas on your fish,measure the fish,girth and length with weight of fish included!
