You are most likely in the May 10th "zone" for last freeze but not necessarily frost. Your local nursery would know for certain. Roses are pretty tough and if they were grown outside during the Winter and recently dug up and sold from a nursery, you should be able to put them in the ground at your convenience provided the ground isn't frozen and they have not already sprung to life or have new growth on them (still dorment) and they are planted in a zone for which they are hardy. They do like drainage and do not like soggy wet hard clay soils. If you want them to really bloom and look "magnificent"; work a granulated fertilizer into the soil with a high middle number like 15-40-15 as this is the only way to get the fertilizer to the roots. Topically applied fetilizers can literally take years to penetrate just the top two inches of soil and will never reach the roots. That middle number is the chemical most needed for flowering and it is the least water soluble and therefore has to be mixed into the soil to be of benefit.July
