What's better for .22lr ammo?: CCI Blazer or Remington Value Pack?

I'm wondering which to get. I've tried Remington before, but I am wondering if CCI might be better.

With a .22, price and quality often have little bearing on how your particular gun will perform with it.

If you go to a forum of .22 enthusiasts like Rimfirecentral.com, you will always get this answer: Buy a wide selection of ammo, from the cheap stuff in the big cartons to the match ammo and have yourself a shoot off.

What you will find from others experience is that even guns of the very same make and model will 'like' different ammo. One gun will jam or FTF with Remington, another will shoot it all day with no issues.

Start with a clean gun and get yourself a bunch of paper targets. It's best to use a bench and sandbags..remember you are checking the gun and ammo NOT your skills. Shoot 20 rounds of each ammo, keeping a simple log of how they perform and noting any feed or ejection issues. Change your targets for each and mark them. When you are done, score the targets and determine what shoots straight and what doesn't with your gun.

I have done this with friends where we did 'blind' tests on ammo too.

It may seem like work but actually, sitting at the range and shooting ammo is a load of fun, and you will be able to tell what shoots best out of your gun.

CCI is the better in my opinion. However, your gun might have it's own opinion. Different guns do better with different bullets. WARNING: If you own a 10-22 buy more magazines. There is a new ban coming! HR1022.

Mile Run? Help.?

I like the Remington golden bullets for plinking and some hunting. The cci blazers are not coated -plain lead . They will leave more lead in your barrel then the golden bullets will. Try the cci mini- mag. That the lr. hunting round i use the most.

Not sure if I should tell this girl about my past.?

My 10/22 does equally well wth CCI's and Remingtons, however Federal's never fail to jam. The complete opposit is true with my wife's .22 S&W target.

Depends on the firearm. Even guns of the same make and model handle different bullets dfferently.

Best bet, buy a box or 2 of different brands and types and figure it out for yourself. Unfortunately, its really the only way.
