WD40 to lube an spring air gun?
does WD40 work to lube my spring air gun? yes? no?...reason's why...thanks
Answers:
It will eat the piston seal in the gun, then you're screwed.
The only way to lube the spring is to tear down the gun.
You'll need a spring compressor for that and you'll need
moly for the spring. It also sounds like you don't know much about tearing down a spring gun, so if I were you, I'd send the gun out to a airgun smith for this. You just don't take it apart.
I would not recommend it if there are any rubber seals or parts that are in the action. WD-40 does weaken rubber.
