Why is it Oklahoma's small mouth bass record is 23.5in but at Lake Lawtonka you can't keep one under 23in?
Ok I pay 25.00 for state permit, 12.00 for a post permit and, 10.00 for a lake lawtonka permit that's 47.00 a year why should I throw back anything under state regulations and the record was not even set on lake lawtonka?

What is the value of a Savage MOdel 242c 410/410 over and under shotgun?
The reason the creel limits are in place is because in years past, the lake has suffered low numbers of fish due to poor water conditions, or more likely, anglers were keeping most all they caught. Now the lakes population of SM bass has to rebound and the state puts the limits into place so that the lake has the maximum number of fish that can spawn, and help to rebuild the fish population at the lake. Of course there could be thousands of other resons, but that is the most likely with the scenario you provided. Give it a few more years and the fishing will be good again.I like outdoor activities, but I find it hard to get to do them where I live. So I need help.?
Chances are they don't want you to catch small mouth bass (hence the 1 limit per day), but if you do catch one and it's a record fish, then you can keep it. Maybe that's what they are trying to do, produce a record small mouth bass.More Questions & Answers...
