The Biological name for the Bass is...Micropterus Salmoides,I personally call them the ruthless killers.
These Bass are so meen that they will eat a shad larger than they can swallow down. The tails from the shad stick out of the mouth deterioating until the Bass can digest enough to get him all the way down.
They are ruthless and have no mercy. Predators. I have seen a Bass try to get a Crawfish out his hole,. It was funny, but he wound'nt give up and finally he sucked him out.
If I had not seen it I wouldn't of believed it.

Not all the time a Bass will swallow a fish from the get go. He wants to wound it first then swallow head down. This is whyt a lot of agngerls using Rapalas and Rattle Traps tend to not get the Bass hooked right away becasue of lack of patience.
The trick using a Rattle Trap is what I call the instant hook by running that trap at full speed or popping it to aloow the Bass to get it int he mouth dseep enough for the hooks to hit the mark otherwise nine-times out of ten that Bass will shake it loose the first time he breaks water.
