How do you set up a rhino baitcasting reel?

Put the reel onto rod and run line through eyelets to reel through the level wind and tie to the spool.Spool on proper amount of line(use line cpacity guidelines)! Now you are ready to see if you have spool speed correct, tie on a normal sized lure you use reel lure to with-in 6" of tip, then push thumb bar or button(making sure thumb is lightly on spool)the lure should free fall several inches then slowly come to a stop before hitting the floor.
If line comes off the spool to fast adjust the spool tension control clockwise to tighten spool only a enough to slow spool speed!
Try again bounce rod tip making lure fall and see if speed is correct.(lure should free fall several inches then come to a slow stop)!
Remember to look at the rod spec's and match the line weight to rod, line and class of rod! ie:(8 to 10 lb line medium action rod)for rod! You can use 6 to 12 line and still get full proper use from rod and reel!
Yes you can use heavier test lines if you want to!
I would start with a casting practise plug to begin casting with until you build up to heavier weights of lures.
One good way is to cast side arm to get the feel of the lure and rod.Start with short distance casts at first10 to 15 foot out in the yard.
Remember never force the rod when casting this will lead to fast backlash!Adjust tension + or - as needed per wieght of lure and for distance! Now work your way up to overhand cast!Ok now when you cast a baitcaster you need to rest your thumb lightly on the spool until you have aquired the skill to use one better!
Press thumb bar in hold thumb on spool bring rod back then forward in a slow manner release thumb from spool and allow lure to go while lightly resting thumb against spool(helps keep spool speed down to prevent backlash)!
In time you will get to the point that you will only need to thumb spool for the cast!I hope this is what you needed and Good luck!
Whats a good secondary 223 and 7.62X39 to have?
I get it... trick question. You save your money and get a good baitcaster such as Daiwa, Abu Garcia or Shimano.

BTW...nice answer Bass Fisherman. You deserve 10 points for best answer.
Don't buy an Ugly stick either!!!!!!!
At least go to basspro and get a bionic blade with and abu round reel. These are decent set-ups to learn on and will last for decades if you take normal care of them.
Man, no need to cut down what the guy bought. At least he's going to get out and try going fishing. In my personal opinion i would match that reel up with a model no: CAL1100 Ugly Stik (medium action) and 14 lb test line. Since it does sound like you are just starting out. try Berkeley XL series line as well. This setup should offer you pretty reliable fishing. later on however' if you decide to upgrade your reel, try going with Abu Garcia ambassadeur 5500 with the same setup. Good luck on your fishing friend.
