Large and Smallmouth bass, croppie, bluegill and about every kind of catfish. A bunch of lakes and big ponds have been stocked with trout, perch and other different fish that arent really native to Illinois.Central IL has a large variety of fish. Catfish, bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass, crappie, pike, walleye, smallmouth bass. The list can go on and on. There is a group online called Fish Illinois. Perhaps they will have more info.

Fishn.com Reports section has a map of lakes with Muskie as does the Illinois Department of fish and wildlife...White bass, and walleye. Bluegill, Redear (AKA Shellcracker)Crappie both white and black. Catfish, channel cats, blue cats, and flathead catfish. Sauger in the river systems. Paddlefish, and possibly Lake Sturgeon, though sturgeon are RARE fish any more. There will be carp in almost all waters in the state, with some bighead carp, and silver carp moving into Illinois where there is connection to the Mississippi River. Various and sundry suckers and minnows, and crawdads.. which are a mollusk. Some Freshwater Muscles as well. That is about all you will find.
