The Browning High-Powers used to have a two digit prefix to their serial #'s (at least, the U.S. commercial models did) which was the year of manufacture. Ex: 70-XXXXXXX, was made in 1970.
The FN is evidently not coded like their Browning counterpart. I would inquire to my local dealer, who should have a copy of the Blue Book of Firearms Values, which lists weapons by serial # groupings, according to year of manufacture. This should give you your ear date.
