Great Britain Rugby League v England Rugby Union 1 game each code who would win each game why and by how much?

When is a try not a try in rugby union?
Lets not be silly, fellow answerers.League would of course win the league match by a fair bit and union would win the union part by a mile. Modern professional union players are a bit different to the ones who previously participated in these games.
The league players would be wiped out in the contact area - tackling, rucks, mauls and the setpieces - it would actually be dangerous. Whereas the majority of union players couldn't cope with the constant backtracking in defence in the league game.
They are two sets of men built for different sports.
When was the last time wales beat france at the millennium stadium?
but league n union cnt b playd at one timeGreat Britain any chance of beating the Aussies in the rugby league tri nations on saturday?
If you are saying 2 matches one of league and one of union then I think the Union would win both. This is because if you can play union well then you can play league well but not vica versa. League doesn't have rucking and mauling like union so it would be difficult for the league players to adapt to this. For this reason I think that the union would win the union game by about 20 points and the league by about 5.But great britain are in the tri nations?
In previous contests (St Helens Vs Orrel or whoever the RU team were they used to play) League has triumphed, in the Middlesex 7s...every time the RFU invited a League team they won it, hence the fact that RL teams are no longer invited.Rugby league focuses far more on skill and pace, RL players would be too quick, too agile and just too damn good for the Union team therefore League would win.

The result would be closer than the old Wigan V Bath matches and the rugby league side would still need to find professional RU Front Row.
If the RU game were played with only genuine players in both teams then the front row law would be applied and scrummages would be non competitive. Should this occur then the GB Rugby League side would win both games.
Only a handful of points would separate the sides an any circumstance as with the professional era a lot of players now move between the codes.
i totally agree with barry bushell and karaoke kiwi.these dudes know what they are talking about. period!
This has been done in the past and resulted in comfotable victories for the respective codes.
What was the impact on society within rugby (1800's)?
gotta b union, cos most union players also play sevens which is like leagueWho else thinks rugby is boring?
Union would win both by about 15-20 points because League players have no idea about rucking or mauling and a League team is a bit like a team comprised entirely of Union back players.Gorringes Warehouse 1965-1967?
league would win, because they are to damn hard and fastIs there a 2007 calender of gavin henson?
as already stated the two codes have met before but only at club level. we are talking international level players who are respected as the best of the trade. however this said i believe that both games would come down to best defences and that would have to be rugby league. however they would struggle with the technicalities of the line outs and scrums but if they have a months training on the basics they should be OK. so my moneys on the league boys no disrespect to all you union lovers.Anyone fancy a game of rugby this weekend?
England rugby league would win by a short margin of 8 because there is far more skill involved in rugby league than in rugby union. The union boys couldnt handle the complexities of rugby league. The union boys are more used to running through like a bull in a china shop, where as the League boys have to think about the next move. Rugby Union is an easier game to play and follow than Rugby League.Rugby League is more of a team effort to score the tries.More Questions & Answers...
