Is American Football, just Rugby for wimps?

Answers:

Who is going to win tonights game aust or kiwi's?

American football is not for wimps, its for utter pansies. The hits in rugby are comparable to the hits in American football. however what is this special teams stuff, once your on the pitch stay on the pitch. Until you've laid on the wrong side of a ruck in rugby you will never know just how soft American footballers really are. There are a few differences with equipment as well, the body Armour used in American football, bloody hell why all that padding? where are they playing Baghdad?. and they certainly don't wear huge studded, hardened toe capped boots. so there you have it. Rugby is a game for men of enormous stature and bravery, and American football is played by the male equivalent of a 5 year old girl. PS. murder ball is the only true game!

Where can i watch six nations rugby in houston?

Looking for a long lost friend, Paul Simmons, formerly of Annerley Road, Blackheath?

Well put!!
They need all that protection, padding, helmets and stuff, just to do what rugby players do!

Which of us idiotic Bulls supporters know that we are going to take the Sharks as well?

Erm, if you get hit by a line whatever it is at full speed, wouldn't you be wearing so much padding that you'd be twice as heavy anyway. What protection do rugby players use? Oh some postions do have a face shield probably about a quarter of the size of an American football helmet or whatever you call it.
Rugby players play a game properly. There are tackles and scrums which I believe there are in American football too. However, the main difference seems to be the amount of padding. I bet the AF players are half the size really after they take off all that kit. If they're not wimps, why would they need it?

Please Help: How come this doesnt hurt?

YES

South africa rugby?

most definitely

Soccer or Football Cleetes?

An old saying goes "football is a gentleman's game played by ruffians, and rugby is a ruffian's game played by gentlemen".

What is so special about Rugby?

American football is not for wimps, it never has been. If you look at the sport its a very demanding and specialised mayhem on and off the field. It has its own set of demands. Big men playing at 100 miles per hour. That's a whole lot of hurt. Only the very best and toughest survive at that sport.

How much does johnny wilkinson get payed?

Can France do well in 2007 World Cup? In my opinion, the only European Team capable of winning it is France?

Captain of the british lions in 1980?

I don't know bru, I think play stops way too much. Also, I've never seen anyone get raked in football * chuckle*.

What are the qualification rules for rugby leagues state of origin?

without a doubt yes. Rugby lasts for 40 minutes per half, with no stopping, Football has to stop everytime somebody looks at the quarterback the wrong way. In rugby if you get hurt you have a minute to decide if you can get up and continue playing (except for blood injuries, then you need to leave the pitch and get it takken care of) in football the whole stadium comes to a standstill for a leg cramp.

Where can I get a copy of the exact version of Swing-Low-Sweet-Chariot that is played after a try @ Twickenham

Having played both I can offer a resounding NO..

In fact the hits in American Football are on an average probably harder than in rugby, although I think this is a symptom of having the padding and protection, not due to any superior skill/strength,etc...

Try going over the middle of the field, jumping for a pass, not taking your eye off of the ball, all the time knowing there is a linebacker who has you lined up.

You raise your arms to take the catch, and WHAM!! get whacked right in the rib cage.

All that and you don't drop the ball. and you do it again...

Cheers!

My son plays rugby and is looking for a kicking coach in barnet area, north london?

I don't know about rugby for wimps but at least rugby incorporates more countries in it's world cup e.g.france,australia,italy,jap... zealand as well as in alphabetical order the home countries england ireland scotland and wales and the play isn't at the beck and call of tv stations; not yet at least! How many countries take part (seriously) in american football world cups?

Rugby In Hamilton, Ontario, Canada??

No, I believe it is not for wimps, but is just too "(north) american" for my taste...
The hits and tackles are rough enough there too even with helmets and pads. believe the players are not smaller than rugbiers after taking off all that... I think they are bigger (they can take esteroids and lot of dope...) and they don't need to run so long, but they have amazing short sprints times for their sizes..
I stay with rugby union because of the backward passing and no tackling to someone not carrying the ball, because of rack, maul, lineout and scrum, because not a whole different team for defense and not stopping every few seconds...
But again, regarding toughness they are even.
