Tickets are allocated to clubs. For example my dad is a season ticket holder at Northampton saints. In the season ticket are vouchers which you can enter into a prize draw. Each voucher is for a specific England game. My dad's voucher was picked and we were offered two tickets to see England v New Zealand. We were then able to buy the tickets. This is quite a fair system as the majority of the tickets go to real rugby fans, the season ticket holders at rugby clubs.You can of course buy them through Ticketmaster as I did to see England V France in a friendly. Now it is a lot harder to get tickets for the six nations!
There are of course tickets allocated to corperate sponsers aswell.

because like any show they sell tickets as fast as possible and in acountry of 60million people from which only 40000 can fit in you have to be quickwell the first answer is correct but it is also the fact that there are all the "band wagon" people who get there first because they know how. Then there's no place left for real fans.

The reason is most of the tickets are allocated to clubs, some schools and to travel operators. The tickets that are left are placed on sale to anyone but there is very few left.There are so many upper middle class types in wellies who go to Twickenham to watch England, but never watch the club sides. Club attendences are pathetic compared to England matches.
Normal fans can't get to Twickenham because it is miles from any railway station.
