Luke's side of the story:Jake never appreciated Cheeky Watson's (Luke's Dad) brazen statements regarding the political reformation of South Africa. Luke felt that there was a personal issue between him and Jake on the basis of this, and believed that Jake thought of him as someone who would bring a disruptive spirit to the bok setup.
Jake side of the story:
Jake never believed in the concept of a "fetcher" (many define a flanker's playing style as this). When asked who he considered the best fetcher in the country to be... he answered... "my son, when he fetches me a cold one from the fridge!" Jake has publicly said he is more than adequately staffed in the flank department and does not require the services of Mr Watson.
AS for Luke being the best flank in the world, well time will tell, at 22 he still has a long road ahead, but that can't be said at present as he has not been given the oppurtunity to test his skills amongst the greats.

actually, i dont really know whats the real problem with the bok coach and luke watson. i've read it before but i forgot. luke watson is a good player.but the best flanker? you've got to be kidding me...
theres richard mccaw, george smith, lewis moody and even schalk burger...thats better than luke watson...and these few are only the opensides...
i hope schalk burger returns sooner...RSA is really missing him. they do not really have a natural no.7...and the fact that luke watson is constantly overlooked doesnt make things better.
