The chariot is still dented from when the Irish beat us after the world cup. It is in for long term repairs, but it will come good again.
The Irish have a strong team, but they will not win the world cup. The French are not quite there yet, but on home turf and with the crowd behind them... who knows. My money is still on NZ.

Was great to see. But I have bad news my friend. Ireland will NEVER win the world cup. It was a fluke that England won it. No one from the northern hemisphere will win it ever again. Remember though that this is the best Irish side in my lifetime and (I hate to say) one of the worst England sides in the same period.2) Will Ireland win the world cup? Look at history. When was the last time you beat the All Blacks? France, SA, Australia are capable. Don't think Ireland have the defence to do it, look how France sliced through your defence when they needed to. What would the All-blacks do to it? Run in 50+ points I'd imagine.

Adolph R, if you look at the draw for the RWC, there is no way there can be a France - Ireland final. They're in the same group!Similarly, an Australia - NZ final is impossible, they will meet each other in a semi final.
Possible combinations for the final are:
NZ - France
NZ - Sth Africa
NZ - Ireland.
Ireland's chances of making the final hinge on their pool game against France. If they beat France, they will most likely top Group D, and in so doing avoid meeting NZ in the quarter finals.
Instead they'll meet the runner up of NZ's group (Scotland or Italy), which is a relatively easy game for them, and book themselves a semi final slot against Sth Africa. Win that one and they're through to the final.
My money is on a NZ - Ireland final...

Ok I just wat to say that England got HOCKEYED by Ireland in Croke park of all places...the english team even said to the papers that they had no excuses or way to hide...Damn right...now the only problem for Ireland is that they are not the big side the the southern hemisphere teams are...but incase you guys sisnt notice...Ireland beat both South Africa and Austrialia recently. France the other week yea...but that was against an Irish team under immense pressure from the country to performe in that stadium and they messed up a lil.but france only scored their winning try in the last 2 mins...so dont be so confident france will do well against ireland in the future...There were so real ignorant english guys on yahoo question talkin bout them winning if they dressed like black an tans.if they had not one of them would have left that stadium alive...not without an army escort out of the area around that stadium...especially that area...also the hill 16 stand was built with rubble from the 1916 easter uprising on top of the black and tans incident..as for the world cup...Ireland still have work to do...but they WILL be playin NZ in the final.it wont be an easy game...but im confident Ireland can pull it off...talk all you want to about france SA and Oz...but this country has like 4 million people in it...compared to france with what 50 or somethin...this lil country is makin a big impression on world rugby...get ready for an Irish world cup winning side.oh and again...tickets to a monumental game: 200 euromoney for beer, food and finding a way to get back to the righ county in the morning: 400 euro

yes we lost to irleand and yes they fully deserved it.As been said we were outplayed everywhere.And ronan had a real good game,the best he has played for his country in years but he too has off days and quite a few but he was a far better player than jw on this particular day.
Ireland world champs nah we have no chance along with wales and scotland but i feel france could take it. But you never know,me personally would like to see scotland win it if we stood no chance but hey its not going to happen.
