Their will be additional meets that will be organized by either schools, track clubs, or corporations. The organizers of these other meets invite outstanding individual runners and outstanding teams in the region that want to cover. The invitations they give out is why those meets are called invitationals. I went to High School in Ga that was known for our distance runners so we recieved tons of invitations and half of our races were at invitationals from NC, Tenn, SC, Fl, an Ga.
Do I have running asthma if so how do I lessen my symptoms?
an invitational is competition outside of a regular league schedule. Schools from various leagues and clubs get together to compete.I really want to run but I can't?
If you are refering to an invitational as a meet or a race within a meet it is about what it sounds like. It is not open to anyone who wishes to enter, but restricted to those who are invited to compete. In most school track meets outside a district or league meet, the school will send out lots of invitations hoping to get plenty of entries to make money. In fact if a team hears of an invitational that they did not get a notice for, they usually call or email the coach and ask if the entries are open so they can enter. In our state CT invites are state wide meets open to any who wish to register. They all have minimum qualifiying standards though which limit the number of athlete's. In our state most Invites are two day meets with JV on Friday and Varsity on Saturday. There are a couple of Invites that are two day events with no JV meet but these are open to the entire Northeast (ME to VA).
an invitational is basically a meet that your school has to be invited to. most of the time there are teams from different leagues. for some invitationals you have to have better than a certain time for your event to be eligible to compete.
