I'm a 10 km runner, and also a spinning instructor and bikerider.
Cycling is better choise if you want to have some exercise and not to do any damadge to your body. Speaking if you do thing the right way. Your seat and handlbars the right hight, keep your back strait and so on.
Running is more about calories. Do you want to quickly lose energy? I personaly get more exercise and higher hart rate out of running. BUT every time you hit your foot on the ground, there is this pressure in your knee where 2 bones are continuesly pressed against each other every time you make a stride and hit the ground hard.
It is good idea to get the right running shoes with lot of support. Running R. or Sport 4 is great choice in Canada. Also if you just started running 10 days ago and have been running every day. Not to good. Start running every second day and let the body have one day rest. Again I do not know how hard and what distance you run.
I always listen to my body. If it hurt, give it rest,
Oh I forgot to mention, to stretch a lot. It will help also with some of the pain.

Running relays?

i would say keep running

Are mini steppers good for cardio for men ?

If you have just started running, you should not run everyday. Many beginners underestimate how much stress running puts on their body. At most run 3 or 4 days each week and limit the each run to 20 to 25 minutes. In addition, make sure you run at an easy pace.

Now that your foot hurts, you should not run until the pain goes away. Biking is also good exercise. However it is harder to get the same heart rate biking as running.so you generally have to bike more to get the equivalent amount of training. If you have access to a health club or gym try the elliptical. If that doesn't hurt your foot, it is a little closer to running.

Shoes and impact damage

You have a foot alignment issue that can be corrected with some custom fittment of your shoes by a quality Runners shop.

Yes shift to cycling until the heel pain is gone or risk really hurting yourself.

Common problem, space your running to no more than every other day when back on your feet and bike the non-running days.

heal up or break down, but get good shoes or the heel pain can last for years!

Level of intensity on "easy day"?

Running is more fun, however it is MUCH more painful.
It depends on how much you like running.
If you like it well enouht to run through the pain - go for it.
BUT if it hurts too much, don't over-do it. Go biking for a little bit, and then switch back to running :)

Tesco Race For Life.?

If you just started running you shoulnd't go daily, maybe 2-3 times a week so your body slowly gets used to it.
I'd suggest taking a break from running for 10 days. As long as your foot doesn't hurt while you're biking then it's fine to go biking. SInce it's a good idea to have a rest day between running days you can un one day, bike the next etc.

How do they start the 40 yrd dash, and the shuttle?

1 mile running=4 miles on a bike. You go faster on a bike, but you get a better work out running, unless you are a biker.
