Is jogging and running bad for your body?
Make sure you warm up, I would say at least 2 miles before the race. Take it easy, don't tire yourself. If you get tired, you're going too fast or too long. Then make sure you stretch fully.During the race, don't start out too fast. Take the first 1/4 of the race a little easier than you would normally. Pick it up a little on your way to the mile mark. The third 1/4 of the race is the most difficult to keep pace, this is where you want to push yourself a bit harder. The final quarter is where you're going hard--the last 800 (or 400 if you're pretty new at running) should be really fast, like sprinting pace (as much as you can at this point lol). Push it in hard and don't slow down until you're across the line.
Have a goal for a time before you start and try to keep on the pace. Calculate the times you need to be at for each half mile or even each 1/4. Stay focused and positive!
GOOD LUCK!
As far as stride, don't take them too long or too short. Keep your body in a straight line from your tailbone to your neck. Make sure your arms don't cross in front of your body when you run, try to keep them parallel. Don't clench your fists, keep them open like you're holding an apple. You'd be surprised at how much little form corrections can help make the race easier.
Are my times where they should be??
inhale/exhaleI am beter at 400m but coach wants me to stick to 800m?
Eat lots of carbs before the race, cut back on sugar and fats. I found that the best way to run fast is to jump hard off one foot and take the biggest stride you can, rather than taking short, fast strides. It will actually look like you're running really slowly, but you'll finish first. I think that during training, you should listen to music. It gets me really pumped up and wanting to run. You probably can't listen to music during the actual race, but try to think about it and block out other people. Also, don't let yourself get in the back of the line during the race... you'll lose hope and might want to stop. Try to stay in the middle or middle-front, that way you can sprint at the end of the race and win.Is 15 too young to take prenatal vitamins to make your hair grow?
go out find a good pace stick in the middle of the pack and after awhile the pain goes away. i am serious once you start going you forget about your legs and just run. there is a point where at one moment you feel like keeling over and the next you feel like running forever. just push yourself to this ppoint and its alll beautiful from there. once you get to where i am talking about you will know. it is one of teh most beautiful things in running distances.Improve your 800 and 400 meter time?
Intead of making small steps at a fast pace use big long strides at a slower pace, Soon you can build your way up to long strides at a fast pace. And thus be fast. Also work your cav muscles for lift off.eat lots and lots of carbs the night before and plenty of water but the day of, eat like easy to digest food, bananas, not fiber tho!!
Heart rate when increasing intensity?
You should eat a lot of carbs the night before the race, like have a pasta dinner with meat sause, and a few peices of bread, and before the race you should do at least a one mile warm-up (not a hard mile, just warm-up pace) and during the race focus on breathing inyour nose, and out your mouth, and make sure when your running, your arms don't cross your body, that can cause cramps. And yes, long strides will help you finish faster. Good luck!! :)Try measuring your pace or stride and then fall in to step by adjusting the intake of air in your diaphram to a steady in/out pattern. You can slow down and pace and reserve the air for a smoother run.
idk.
What are some good ways to improve my mile time?
Try not to push yourself to hard. Just practice a lot, but remember not push yourself. How do you beat that sluggish feeling at the end of a 400m, physically and mentally.?
when running long distance you should practice running longer then you are for the race so if you are going to run 2 miles run 3 for better endurance also practice running up hills its hard at first but it will make u better and also pace yourselfpush urself as hard as you can but not so hard that u will hurt urself. get a feel for ur limits then train close to those limits. Your strides should feel natural. If you naturally take short strides and lots of them, then try extending your stride a little more over time. My stride used to be really short, then I kept run 100 meters at the end of each run with really long strides. When you are running, your feet should land a little in front of your body. This is a good stride length for most people. Try listening to music to get yourself pumped up for the race. It really does help.
Time yourself and set a goal. Keep a journal. Drink lots of water.
