What should I be doing for track?
as long as its not icy. and dress warmlyHow do I get back into shape quickly and stop the constant soreness and muscle tightness?
Absolutely you must! Invest in Under Armour products for anything sub-55, in my opinion. Make sure you are stretched good and warmed up. Wear gloves, its hard to run in the cold with frozen finger tips. Have lots of fun and brag about it later, makes other people feel lazy :)New Runner Noticing Mild Lower Back Stiffness?
It is great for the lungs as long as you wear enough, but not too much, clothing.Let you body cool down some as well. The shock from outside to inside can play games with your breathing. Enjoy your run. Stay away from 5 degrees and below. Your skin can freeze too quickly.

Sure you can. I went this morning in 5 degree weather. but some warm clothes on and don't do anything to extensive because it is hard on your lungs-you may be breathing harder than usual when you finish. be sure to stretch when your done. How often should I change the spikes in my mid-distance track spikes?

Of course you should!I for one prefer running in the cold more than in warm weather. I run in shorts and underarmour for a top. I guess I like runnin inthe cold more because I go faster - my mind set is that the faster I get the run done, the faster I can get back into my sweats or back into a building so I will be warm. I guess that some people might not e as strong willed as I to stay out there and keep going, but if you can, and have the opportunity, go for it.
(I'm a 400m runner to though, so I guess if you are running distance it would be different.)
Im 17 years of age i plan to join the track and field team?
i dont see why not..Absolutely!, 37 is almost perfect, mid forties are even better. Have fun!
If you want to go running when it's 37, there is no reason why you shouldn't. I live in the south, so I've never been running when it was really cold. I reckon that the coldest temps I've run in were around 0 degrees F.
At 37, the biggest risk, in my opinion is that you may overdress. You'll warm up quickly, so wear layers that you can remove. I've been to races from 5K to Marathon at that and lower temps and have seen folks dressed in shorts and singlets Those were the fast people, though, and if you are a plodder like me, then dress accordingly
What is winning times in the 400 and 800 for 1A school track meets?
Yes! Running through winter is the best way to get used to the cold. Make sure you are well covered but not too warmly either because the running will heat you up!i did. just put on some sweats. you'll be plenty warm when your running.
yeah you should! that's like a perfect temperature if you have underarmour of running tights on. that's the tempature for most of the track season where i live. some track meets are like 25 degrees that's when it's cold.
Just make sure you stretch good before you run, and then also after you are done running.
HAve fun
I need to know why one of my feet is going numb during my running exercises.?
you canThere are two sides to this question. First, it is easy to pull muscles in cold weather so stretch very well. The good side is that this weather builds your lungs. Dress fairly warm ,but you will heat up quickly. So if you're a competitive runner then stretch well , be careful , and dress accordingly. If you're just jogging to get in shape ,then yes its perfectly fine. Cold weather lowers amune system and could make you sick ,but an in shape body may be worth the risk!
Who do I have pains in only one leg after running and how can I fix this?
Just to refute the old wives tales in some of the answers. Cold weather does not lower your "amune" system. This is a common misconception because more people get sick in the winter. The real reason is that when it is cold out people spend more time indoors with the sick people and therefore get sick more often. Not to mention that the rugrats go to school in the winter and bring home every disease known to man. The bottom line is go outside and run in the lovely 37F weather and maybe you won't get sick.More Questions & Answers...
